⚠️ Important Update About Google Business Profile Emails⚠️

We want to bring your attention to a growing issue that’s been affecting many of our clients and their Google Business Profiles.
Recently, Google has been sending automated emails regarding business information—especially addresses—to everyone who has access to a listing. This includes both owners and managers. While these emails may look routine, taking the wrong action can unintentionally cause serious complications.

❗ Whats Happening
Google’s prompts often encourage users to “complete” or “confirm” business details. The problem? They’re designed in a way that may push businesses—particularly service-area businesses (SABs) that don’t operate from a storefront—to disclose their physical address when it should remain hidden.
When acted upon, this can trigger:
A reverification process, sometimes requiring multiple video calls.
Listings being locked from updates, blocking posts and performance insights.
Google demanding permanent signage, which not all businesses can provide.
✅ What You Should Do With Google My Business
If you receive one of these emails:
Do NOT update your business address.
Forward it to us for review or simply ignore it until we advise.
It’s fine to read the email—just don’t take action unless you’re sure.
Why This Matters
These automated messages can be misleading and have already caused confusion and delays for business owners. A small mistake may lead to weeks of lost visibility and tedious verification processes.
That’s why we strongly recommend letting our team handle all updates or verification requests. This way, your listing stays active, accurate, and visible without unnecessary setbacks.
